1984 by George Orwell
To try and explain what exactly this book is about and why I enjoyed it is a task. It’s only able to speak for itself, really. This book is quite a great addition to all the dystopian lit books and after reading a couple series with the same theme, I’m obsessed! Banned books/challenged books always seem to catch my eye as well.
On a bad note, I must say this book did take some time to get into. It also took me a while to read—when I usually find myself reading books quicker. However, once I did get into this book I could not put it down! I love the way Orwell forms the world of 1984. The Newspeak, the Thought Police, the Ministries. It’s all one I wouldn’t have ever been able to think of! And with all it’s corrupted ways, I’d still find it a bit interesting to live there… Maybe it’s just me, but it intrigues me to no end.
This book is surely not one like the others, and if you don’t believe me, pick it up yourself.
